We are\u00a0recruiting\u00a0to fill the position\u00a0below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Driver \u2013 Multiple locations (with\u00a0possibility\u00a0of building a roster)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job ID:<\/strong> 28081<br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Abuja, Nigeria<br \/>\n<strong>Grade:<\/strong> SB1<br \/>\n<strong>Agency: <\/strong>UNDP<br \/>\n<strong> Posting Type:<\/strong> Common System<br \/>\n<strong>Vacancy Type:<\/strong> Service Contract (SC)<br \/>\n<strong> Practice Area \u2013 Job Family:<\/strong> Management \u2013 TRANSPORTATION<br \/>\n<strong>Contract Duration:<\/strong> Initial period of 6 months to\u00a0One\u00a0(1) year<\/p>\n<p><strong>Background<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This position is with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Country Office Abuja Nigeria.<\/li>\n<li>The Driver\u00a0demonstrates\u00a0a client-oriented approach,\u00a0high\u00a0sense of responsibility, courtesy, tact and the ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.<\/li>\n<li>Under the guidance and supervision of the Deputy Resident representative \u2013 Operation and direct supervisor, the Driver provides reliable and safe driving services ensuring high accuracy of work in the duty station posted to.<\/li>\n<li>The Driver provides driving services to the operations and programme staff in the country\u00a0office \/ sub-office, Consultants and Experts and UN staff on\u00a0mission.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>\nSummary of Key\u00a0Functions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensures\u00a0provision\u00a0of reliable and secure driving services by a) driving office vehicles for the transport of\u00a0authorized\u00a0personnel and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items\u00a0and\u00a0b) meeting official personnel and visitors at the airport,\u00a0visa\u00a0and customs formalities arrangement when required.<\/li>\n<li>Provision of reliable and secure driving services<\/li>\n<li>Proper use of vehicle<\/li>\n<li>Ensures cost-savings through proper use of\u00a0vehicle\u00a0through accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs, provision of inputs to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports.<\/li>\n<li>Ensures proper day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle through timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil,\u00a0check\u00a0of tires, brakes, car washing, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle<\/li>\n<li>Availability of\u00a0documents \/ supplies<\/li>\n<li>Ensures availability of all the required documents\/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, office directory,\u00a0map\u00a0of the city\/country, first aid kit, necessary spare parts<\/li>\n<li>Ensures that\u00a0all immediate actions required by rules and regulations are taken\u00a0in case of involvement in accidents<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Impact of Results:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The key results have an impact on the accurate, safe and timely execution of the office services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Competencies<\/strong><br \/>\nCorporate Competencies:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Operational Effectiveness<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrates excellent knowledge of protocol (for Drivers)<\/li>\n<li>Ability to operate and maintain a variety of computerized business machines and office equipment in order to provide efficient delivery of service<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrates excellent knowledge of security issues (for Drivers)<\/li>\n<li>Ability to handle a large volume of work possibly under time constraints<\/li>\n<li>Good knowledge of administrative rules and regulations<\/li>\n<li>Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks by establishing priorities<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrates excellent knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repair (for Drivers)<\/li>\n<li>Ability to perform a variety of repetitive and routine tasks and duties<\/li>\n<li>Ability to review data, identify and adjust discrepancies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Managing Data:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Transmits file data; creates and generate queries, reports and documents utilizing databases, spreadsheets, communications and other software packages with speed and accuracy<\/li>\n<li>Collects and compiles data with speed and accuracy identifying what is relevant and discarding what is not, records it\u00a0in an accessible manner\u00a0and maintains databases<\/li>\n<li>Thoroughly and methodically collects, verifies and records data demonstrating attention to detail and identifying and correcting errors on own initiative<\/li>\n<li>Interprets data, draws conclusions and \/ or identifies patterns which support the work of others<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Managing Documents, Correspondence and Reports:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to produce accurate and well-documented records conforming to the required standard<\/li>\n<li>Creates, edits and presents information (queries, reports, documents) in visually pleasing, clear and presentable formats such as tables, forms, presentations, briefing notes \/ books and reports using advanced word processing and presentation functions and basic database and spreadsheet software<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Planning, Organizing and Multi-Tasking:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrates ability to quickly shift from one task to another to meet multiple support needs<\/li>\n<li>Establishes, builds and maintains effective working relationships with staff and clients to facilitate the provision of support.<\/li>\n<li>Organises and accurately completes multiple tasks by establishing priorities while taking into consideration special assignments, frequent interruptions, deadlines, available resources and multiple reporting relationships<\/li>\n<li>Plans, coordinates and organises workload while remaining aware of changing priorities and competing deadlines<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Skills and Experience<\/strong><br \/>\nEducation:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Secondary Education.
