It served more than 21 million people in 2018 alone. We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0<\/strong><strong>FSL Agroforestry Assistant<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location<\/strong>: Damaturu, Yobe State<br \/>\n<strong>Starting Date:<\/strong> As Soon As Possible<br \/>\n<strong>Direct Line Manager:<\/strong> FSL Agroforestry Officer<\/p>\n<p><strong>Objective 1<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Undertake Agricultural assistance interventions at the LGA level under the direction of the Agriculture Officer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tasks and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Facilitate community mobilization, meetings, and training during community-led agriculture activities;<\/li>\n<li>Work with traditional committees to ensure the identification and selection of the most vulnerable IDPs and host communities and provide information to ensure accountability, fairness, and transparency during the implementation of activities.<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with community structures to follow up on the implementation of agriculture planned activities with support from the agriculture officer.<\/li>\n<li>Support in the implementation of agricultural capacity building training for the target beneficiaries at the LGA level.<\/li>\n<li>Directly implement in the field the activities defined in the program in close collaboration with the agriculture officer.<\/li>\n<li>Implement a detailed work plan for the agriculture team at LGA level activities in collaboration with agriculture officer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Objective 2<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Collect information and data on food security at LGA level through surveys, assessments, market price monitoring and regular post distribution monitoring of beneficiary households<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Tasks and Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Collect information to ensure that the surveillance of the agriculture situation in the area of implementation of the program is achieving the expected result when required.<\/li>\n<li>Collect the required information in the field to facilitate the capacity building and training program, with the support of the Agriculture Officer.<\/li>\n<li>Support the M&amp;E team in the analysis of beneficiary data collection through the various tools that the department uses.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in the registration beneficiaries and distribution of beneficiary ID card<\/li>\n<li>Support the preparation of documentation required for the implementation of field activities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Objective 3<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mobilization and awareness-raising about the organization, program objectives, and activities to local authorities and the population, and act as a link between the Organization and the beneficiaries (at LGA level)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Tasks and Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contribute to the development of project community mobilization strategies for targeting and registration of beneficiaries for the Economic and Livelihoods Restoration.<\/li>\n<li>Implement sensitization activities for targeted communities about agricultural activities and strengthening livelihood restoration activities with support from SEMA, Extension workers, Community Volunteers, traditional leaders and other key stakeholders in feasible livelihood restoration activities at LGA level.<\/li>\n<li>Support in the verification of the beneficiaries to ensure the identification and selection of the most vulnerable population is verified before agricultural assistance is made.<\/li>\n<li>Support the Agriculture Officer in ensuring that targeting of beneficiaries to receive agricultural assistance is carried out in a transparent way and with the active participation of women and minority members of communities.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate the good working relationship between government extension workers and target beneficiaries.<\/li>\n<li>Support the Agriculture Officer to ensure that beneficiaries\u2019 access to the provider guarantees protection and gender sensitivity in the field<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Objective 4<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reporting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Tasks and Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Produce project activity reports from the area of operation as per reporting schedule or when needed (Bi-weekly and monthly updates, success stories, case studies, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Report any change in context to allow for timely changes in program activity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Internal &amp; External Relationship<\/strong><br \/>\nInternal:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Agriculture Officer: hierarchical relationship<\/li>\n<li>FSL DPM: Technical oversight, technical support, coaching<\/li>\n<li>FSL Program Manager: exchange of information, reporting, collaboration, coordination<\/li>\n<li>Other Programme Assistants and Officers: Nut\/FSL\/WASH\/M&amp;E: exchange of information on programs, coordination and monitoring and evaluation (integrated approach<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>External:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Local authorities: communication, exchange of information in collaboration with the FSL PM and DPM<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Position Requirements<\/strong><br \/>\nQualifications:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Diploma in FSL related studies e.g. Agro-Economy, Natural Resource Management, Anthropology, Disaster Risk Management, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of one-year work experience in humanitarian contexts within conflict\/insecure contexts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills and Experience<\/strong><br \/>\nEssential:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Professional, motivated, open, creative, mature, responsible, flexible and, culturally sensitive<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience with food security and livelihoods programming.<\/li>\n<li>One year relevant work experience<\/li>\n<li>Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)<\/li>\n<li>Willing and able to be based and travel regularly within remote areas, where services are limited.<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in Hausa, English<\/li>\n<li>Commitment to AAH missions, values, and policy<\/li>\n<li>Good team spirit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Previous experience with FSL interventions (i.e. IGA, agriculture\/livelihoods)<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience with ACF<\/li>\n<li>Previous humanitarian programming experience<\/li>\n<li>Good knowledge of the intervention area\/s and local.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Basic Salary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>NGN156,995 per month.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/acfinternational.applytojob.com\/apply\/K8fTQ8dQdJ\/FSL-Agroforestry-Assistant\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Click here to apply online<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>23rd January, 2020.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong>\u00a0Qualified women are encouraged to apply.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Action Against Hunger is the world\u2019s hunger specialist and leader in a global movement that aims to end life-threatening hunger for good within our lifetimes.
