We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Digital Consultant &#8211; Africa Campaigns Hub<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job ID:<\/strong> AU(02\/20 LOS)<br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Lagos<br \/>\n<strong>Grade:<\/strong> B3 (L)<br \/>\n<strong> Working hours per week:<\/strong> 36<br \/>\n<strong>Duration of Post:<\/strong> 24 months<br \/>\n<strong>Type of Position:<\/strong> Fixed Term, Full-time<br \/>\n<strong>Type of Post:<\/strong> British Deputy High Commission<br \/>\n<strong>Job Category:<\/strong> Foreign and Commonwealth Office (Operations and Corporate Services)<br \/>\n<strong> Job Subcategory:<\/strong> Digital Transformation Unit<br \/>\n<strong>Start and End Date:<\/strong> 1st April 2020 &#8211; 31st March 2022<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities) \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The UK wants to work alongside, invest in and partner with African nations to deliver more opportunities, more jobs and greater stability \u2013 both in the UK and across Sub-Saharan Africa.<\/li>\n<li>To deliver these new partnerships, HMG is rebooting its ability to deliver creative communication campaigns across the continent, with the launch of the Africa Campaigns Hub \u2013 and we are looking for an ambitious, talented and motivated Digital Consultant to join this new team.<\/li>\n<li>The Africa Campaigns Hub will be a team of 14 communications specialists split between London, Pretoria, Nairobi and Lagos, designing and delivering creative pan-African communications campaigns.<\/li>\n<li>This role will be based in the British Deputy High Commission in Lagos. Working directly to the Head of Regional Campaigns (West Africa) to provide regional campaign support across Western Africa, the successful candidate will bring specialist skills in digital content creation, campaign delivery, social media analytics, monitoring and evaluation.<\/li>\n<li>You will be enthusiastic and proactive; have excellent organisational skills and a broad understanding of how media and digital channels can be used to reach and influence audiences; and be a team-player with a passion for developing your campaign planning skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Roles and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop and create high-quality original digital content including video, graphics, photography, tweets and other short form content, in support of key strategic objectives, tailored to different local needs across Sub-Saharan Africa.<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with Africa Campaigns Hub colleagues across London, Lagos, Nairobi and Pretoria, providing support to ensure communications campaigns make strategic use of digital communications techniques and platforms. Ensure digital communications are fully effective, make use of audience insight, and are properly targeted and evaluated.<\/li>\n<li>Support the upskilling of communicators across HMG\u2019s Africa Network in line with the latest Government Communication Service learning and development programmes, including in digital campaign planning, digital audience insight and production. This includes championing the improvement of visual content across HMG\u2019s Africa Network, and working with local teams to adopt a story-telling approach to digital content. This includes using evaluation and data insight to inform campaign planning and understand the impact of our digital communications.<\/li>\n<li>Build trusted relationships with local, national and international partners, developing and maintaining an active directory of third party stakeholder contacts \u2013 from academia, NGOs, think tanks, campaigners and social media influencers \u2013 for supportive digital engagement opportunities. Use this network to ensure the HMG Africa Network is fully plugged-in to the latest thinking and movements in the digital sphere.<\/li>\n<li>Translate business and policy objectives into digital communications objectives, generating ideas and plans to meet them and being confident in providing strategic digital communications advice.\u00a0 This includes working closely with policy colleagues in London and across the HMG Africa Network to identify excellent digital stories that will advance our communications objectives, whilst also identifying and managing risks.<\/li>\n<li>Working with a Campaign Planning and Support Officer, input into a grid of digital communications activity to help plan future campaigning and media stories.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor digital output from across the HMG Africa Network, capturing and sharing examples of best practice across the network and identifying teams who would benefit from further training or support.<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with the FCO\u2019s digital network \u2013 including the hub in Pretoria, and the digital network manager in Madrid \u2013 and engage collaboratively with other British government department digital teams.<\/li>\n<li>The role is subject to change as the Network and requirements evolve.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum 2 years\u2019 experience producing high quality visual content for impactful communications campaigns<\/li>\n<li>Graphic design and production skills, including experience of Photoshop or equivalent<\/li>\n<li>Video production and editing skills, including experience using iMovie, Adobe Premiere Elements, Final Cut Pro or equivalent<\/li>\n<li>Experience taking briefs and ability to establish a clear and nuanced understanding of client needs whilst at the same time able to shape and guide those with lesser experience on the best way to develop digital content<\/li>\n<li>Experience of dealing with and managing corporate brands<\/li>\n<li>Experience in running campaign\/activity reports and accessing social media analytics<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the social media landscape across Africa &#8211; and specially Western Africa &#8211; and how different social media channels are being used across the continent<\/li>\n<li>An effective communicator with strong customer service skills, and comfortable presenting to and persuading senior staff<\/li>\n<li>Driven and able to deliver against challenging timelines<\/li>\n<li>The ability to learn quickly and work with a high degree of autonomy<\/li>\n<li>A positive \u201ccan-do\u201d attitude that can see way through challenges<\/li>\n<li>Excellent organisational and self-management skills to respond effectively to tight \u2013 and changing \u2013 deadlines and priorities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience delivering training and\/or designing training to be delivered by others<\/li>\n<li>Experience of working in a crisis situation or delivering under high pressure would be highly regarded<\/li>\n<li>Experience of working with Government departments and\/or public-sector agencies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Seeing the Big Picture<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Starting Monthly Salary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>NGN 539, 370\/Month<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other benefits and conditions of employment\u00a0 :<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Learning and development opportunities (and any specific training courses to be completed):<\/li>\n<li>Various courses and programmes are available across a huge range of professions from communications to project management and policy.
