Job description<\/strong>
\nCartographer is involved with the scientific, technological aspects of developing and producing maps and cartographic information. Cartographer will present complex information as diagrams, charts and spreadsheets, as well as in the form of conventional maps. Geographical information systems (GIS) and digital-mapping techniques now dominate the role.<\/p>\n

Job Responsibilities<\/strong>
\n\u25a0Production of Geo referenced maps for all departments in the organization.
\n\u25a0Produce adhoc maps and sketches via illustration Software packages.
\n\u25a0Regular updates of Core asset maps and update of cultural data.
\n\u25a0GIS File format conversions.
\n\u25a0Document, control & distribute all project files via document management system.
\n\u25a0Secondary Duties
\n\u25a0Supply technical advice on large format printing to the IS Service Desk.
\n\u25a0Occasional revision and editing of CAD engineering drawings<\/p>\n

Job Qualifications et experience<\/strong>
\n\u25a0HND \/ Degree level or equivalent experience
\n\u25a0Ability to use a variety of technical software packages for both GIS mapping & visualisations
\n\u25a0Microstation, Petroview, Just CGM, Just Plot, Freehand\/ illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, MS Office.
\n\u25a0Knowledge of map projections.
\n\u25a0Understanding of G&G, Exploration & Exploitation mapping requirements.
\n\u25a0Knowledge of commonly used G&G Applications e.g. Zmap, Petrel, Petroview.
\n\u25a0Significant experience of cartographic work within the oil industry.
\n\u25a0Knowledge of file manipulation, printing and plotting.
\n\u25a0Skills in Graphical and Technical illustration advantageous
\n\u25a0Is a team player and can provide a supporting role to other members of the team, including backup in their absence.
\n\u25a0Is able to plan, schedule and monitor own work within a limited time horizons.
\n\u25a0Has an effective and appropriate level of written and oral communication skills
\n\u25a0Has a systematic and disciplined approach to work.
\n\u25a0Customer focused.<\/p>\n
