We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Consultant II &#8211; To Review, Harmonize and Standardize Lab Data Management Tools<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job ID:<\/strong> 13-10948<br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Abuja<br \/>\n<strong>Grade:<\/strong> Consultant<br \/>\n<strong>Group \/ Office:<\/strong> PDG (Program Delivery Group)<br \/>\n<strong>Dept \/ Unit:<\/strong> PDGGEN &#8211; Program Delivery Group<br \/>\n<strong>Project \/ Program:<\/strong> A607 &#8211; Nigeria Global Fund RSSH<br \/>\n<strong>Reports To:<\/strong> Director Lab<\/p>\n<p><strong>Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The overarching aim of the GF Resilient &amp; Sustainable Systems for Health [RSSH] project is to improve the health and well-being of the Nigerian people by identifying and addressing systemic issues affecting the optimal delivery of health services in Nigeria. The resulting high-level interventions have been designed to follow the Global Fund\u2019s framework for [RSSH] that is built on the essential building blocks of WHO for a well-functioning health system, including community systems strengthening (CSS) as another critical component to be addressed in support of RSSH.<\/li>\n<li>The RSSH grant is designed to strengthen the Nigerian health system across the HIV, TB, and Malaria program areas. In doing so it&#8217;ll have interventions targeted at the HMIS, PSM &amp; Lab system strengthening areas. There is also the added dimension of the innovative &#8220;State approach&#8221; to be piloted in the three states of Oyo, Kaduna &amp; Imo. The state approach covers elements like public financial management, support for health insurance and health sector coordination among others. Laboratory system strengthening aims to improve laboratory operations for optimal patient care, treatment, disease surveillance and response, biosafety and policy development.<\/li>\n<li>Laboratory information management system is critical for the storage and management of information obtained in the course of the work of the laboratory, and it is a requirement for meeting quality standards, tracking turnaround time from specimen receipt to reporting of results, and improving patient outcomes. The GF Resilient &amp; Sustainable Systems for Health [RSSH] project seeks to engage three (3) national consultants; 2 with bias in Medical Laboratory Management and 1 consultant with bias in Procurement Supply Chain Management (PSM). The key objective of this consultancy is to develop a national paper-based Laboratory Information System. In addition, this consultancy will support the integration of laboratory information management systems with the national instance of DHIS 2 to ensure that information on laboratory activities are also available on the national portal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Objective<\/strong><br \/>\nThe key objective of this short-term consultancy is:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To develop a national paper-based Laboratory Information System.<\/li>\n<li>To support the integration of laboratory information management systems with the national instance of DHIS 2.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Expected completion Period:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Consultancy will span the period 24th February &#8211; 30th April 2020<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Specific Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Desk review of the paper-based laboratory information management system for different program areas e.g. HIV, Malaria, TB, etc \u2013 2 days<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with relevant staff of FMoH (DPRS \/ NASCP \/ NMEP, NTBLCP, Lab department, NCDC), NACA and other stakeholders\/department to identify information that will be captured on the paper-based Lab information system in line with the National NHMIS protocol\/strategy \u2013 2 day<\/li>\n<li>Hold a consultative meeting with the Lab TWG and other relevant stakeholders to develop draft indicators and data flow systems \u2013 2 days<\/li>\n<li>Develop a draft paper-based lab information system (i.e. the indicators, data collection process, and the reporting tools; the draft SOP for the lab MIS) on areas of national needs based on stakeholder consultations \u2013 10days<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate 2-day stakeholders meeting to review, finalize and validate the paper-based lab information system \u2013 2 days<\/li>\n<li>Finalize the draft paper-based Lab information \u2013 2 days<\/li>\n<li>Submit a final paper based Lab information system i.e. the lab indicators to be tracked, the data collection and the reporting tools; the draft SOP for the paper-based lab LMIS.<\/li>\n<li>Produce a comprehensive report of the consultancy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Deliverables:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare a detailed report of all consultations (with pictorial evidence where necessary).<\/li>\n<li>Provide a comprehensive report on stakeholders\u2019 engagement, recommendations and presentations (with pictorial evidence).<\/li>\n<li>Harmonized national paper-based laboratory information system.<\/li>\n<li>Establish a laboratory information flow structure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications and Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Medical Laboratory Professional with a minimum of Master\u2019s degree in the Life Sciences.<\/li>\n<li>Advanced degree (Masters Level) in Public Health will be an advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Certification in procurement and supply chain management will be an advantage for the Lab PSM Consultant.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should:<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/jobs-msh.icims.com\/jobs\/10948\/consultant-ii%3a-to-review%2c-harmonize-and-standardize-lab-data-management-tools\/job\" target=\"_blank\">Click here to apply online<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>20th February, 2020.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Management Sciences for Health (MSH), a global health nonprofit organization, uses proven approaches developed over 40 years to help leaders, health managers, and communities in developing nations build stronger&#8230;..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":10165,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":false,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[17],"tags":[653],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.5 -
