ActionAid International works in more than 40 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and America. Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacant position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Finance Consultant<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Abuja, Nigeria<br \/>\n<strong>Responsible to:<\/strong> Finance Manager (Partnership Fund)<br \/>\n<strong>Duration:<\/strong> 6 months contract<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Finance Consultant will contribute to maintaining adequate financial integrity in supporting quality and timely data input for generation of financial reports, review and analyze accounting ledgers.<\/li>\n<li>S\/he will also contribute to strengthening the internal control and accounting systems of AAN and partner organizations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Duties<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support partners and AA Nigeria in budget\/forecast preparation and Implementation in line with donor requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure timely release of funds to partner organizations<\/li>\n<li>Follow up to receive quarterly\/bi-annual reports from partner organizations (local NGO\/CBO\/FBO), review of same and communicating feedback.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure timely retirement of staff advances for project activities.<\/li>\n<li>Monthly reconciliation of project expenditure and input to management accounts on cost incurred specifically for projects handled based on the various cost classifications.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure accuracy and integrity of ledger balances.<\/li>\n<li>Support AAN periodic financial process and obligations<\/li>\n<li>Posting\/input of transactions using SUN\/VISION accounting package.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure proper documentation of all financial documents related to relevant projects.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and submit timely financial report to donor agencies and other stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure timely timesheet and other donor documentation requirement are complied with<\/li>\n<li>Support periodic internal and annual external audit process.<\/li>\n<li>Implement audit recommendations in relation to the relevant projects.<\/li>\n<li>Any other tasks assigned by line manager<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications\/Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First Degree in Accounting \/ Economics with minimum of 3 years\u2019 experience in the INGO\/NGO sector<\/li>\n<li>A qualified Chartered Accountant or undergoing professional qualification<\/li>\n<li>Experience managing donor (DfID, EU, Foundation etc) funded related projects<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Accounting\/ Finance cycles and taxation<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of statutory and Internal Audit processes is desirable<\/li>\n<li>Must be computer literate with proven knowledge in Word and Excel<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in reputable\/dependable high-tech Accounting software is required<\/li>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Must have high respect for professional and personal integrity and ethically sound<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>To apply <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Interested and qualified candidates should submit their Applications electronically to:\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:Jobopenings.Nigeria@actionaid.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jobopenings.Nigeria@actionaid.org<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0using the Job Title and location e.g Finance Consultant &#8211;
