We are\u00a0recruiting\u00a0to fill the position\u00a0below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Midwife<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Code:<\/strong> MS03000<br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Pulka, Gwoza LGA, Borno<br \/>\n<strong>Reports To:<\/strong> Midwife Supervisor<br \/>\n<strong>Reports To (functional)\u00a0:\u00a0<\/strong>Midwife Supervisor \/ Midwife Activity Manager<br \/>\n<strong>Area:<\/strong> Medical \/ Paramedical<br \/>\n<strong>Supervises:<\/strong> No<br \/>\n<strong>Working Hours:<\/strong> 48 Hrs \/ Week<br \/>\n<strong>No. of Places:<\/strong> One (01)<br \/>\n<strong>Contract Duration:<\/strong> 6 Months<br \/>\n<strong>Level:<\/strong> 6<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide\u00a0 obstetrical\u00a0 care\u00a0 to\u00a0 pregnant\u00a0 women\u00a0 and\u00a0 their\u00a0 babies,\u00a0\u00a0doing\u00a0 follow\u00a0 up\u00a0 before,\u00a0\u00a0during\u00a0 and\u00a0 after\u00a0 delivery, according to MSF obstetrical and reproductive health protocols, universal hygienic and newborn caring standards\u00a0and\u00a0 under\u00a0 supervision\u00a0 of\u00a0 a\u00a0 specialist\u00a0 doctor,\u00a0\u00a0in\u00a0 order\u00a0 to\u00a0 ensure\u00a0 their\u00a0 health\u00a0 conditions\u00a0 and\u00a0 avoid\u00a0 post-delivery complications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Accountabilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensuring the implementation and continuity of antenatal and postnatal care,\u00a0 family planning, obstetrical care\u00a0\u00a0 (BEmONC 1\u00a0\u00a0 and\u00a0\u00a0 CEmONC\u00a0\u00a0 2),\u00a0\u00a0 neonatal and comprehensive abortion care, management of victims of sexual violence, reproductive tract infections and Fistula care in accordance with\u00a0 MSF\u00a0 Reproductive\u00a0 Core\u00a0 Package of\u00a0 Activities and reinforce the implementation of standardized protocols.<\/li>\n<li>Where\u00a0 PMTCT\u00a0 is\u00a0 implemented,\u00a0 ensuring\u00a0 implementation\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 PMTCT\u00a0 protocol\u00a0 in\u00a0 the ANC\/delivery and PNC consultations (pre counselling, test and post counselling<\/li>\n<li>Collaborating\u00a0 with\u00a0 the\u00a0 medical\u00a0 doctor\u00a0 and\u00a0 \/or\u00a0 nurse in\u00a0 the\u00a0 management\u00a0 of\u00a0 Sexual\u00a0 Violence cases<\/li>\n<li>Assessing the feasibility for referral of pregnant women form the\u00a0 TBAs to the\u00a0 OPD\/MCH\u00a0 for medical evaluation and\/or complicated deliveries.<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring hygiene and sterilization criteria (including universal precautions) are met according to MSF specifications.<\/li>\n<li>Performing cleaning and minor maintenance for biomedical equipment used.\u00a0 Following the user manual and protocols and alert supervisor in case of malfunctioning.<\/li>\n<li>Guaranteeing a\u00a0 regular and ongoing supply of drugs and equipment required for maternity activities (including monitoring\/consumption control\/ordering of orders.<\/li>\n<li>Properly following up all newborn babies from delivery until discharge, informing mothers and relatives about the importance of breastfeeding,\u00a0 vaccination and possible complications resulting from harmful traditional practices.<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring patients\u2019 right to privacy and confidentiality is respected<\/li>\n<li>Supervising\u00a0 that\u00a0 administrative\u00a0 procedures\u00a0 of\u00a0 admissions\u00a0 and\u00a0 hospitalizations\u00a0 comply\u00a0 with MSF\u00a0 protocols,\u00a0 as\u00a0 well\u00a0 as verify\u00a0 patients\u00a0 are\u00a0 properly informed and\u00a0 receive\u00a0 the\u00a0 documents\u00a0 required (birth certificate, vaccination card, etc )<\/li>\n<li>Participating in the organization of the ward in collaboration with other midwives and the maternity ward supervisor. Ensure\u00a0 transfer\u00a0 of\u00a0 relevant\u00a0 information\u00a0 to\u00a0 the\u00a0 next\u00a0 shift\u00a0 team\u00a0 (specially identifying risk cases)<\/li>\n<li>According\u00a0 to\u00a0 MSF\u00a0 protocols\u00a0 in\u00a0 force,\u00a0 conduct\u00a0 normal\u00a0 deliveries\u00a0 independently\u00a0 Manage obstetric emergencies;<\/li>\n<li>Identify\u00a0 cases\u00a0 needing\u00a0 referral\u00a0 and\u00a0 send\u00a0 them\u00a0 in time,\u00a0 clean\u00a0 up\u00a0 the\u00a0 newborn,\u00a0 executing\u00a0 and registering first neo-natal medical acts (cutting and cleaning the umbilical cord, vaccination, etc.),<\/li>\n<li>Detecting\u00a0 possible\u00a0 anomalies\/infections\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 newborn\u00a0 and\u00a0 reporting\u00a0 them\u00a0 to\u00a0 the\u00a0 doctor,\u00a0 in order to ensure successful interventions<\/li>\n<li>Participate in the supervision of the use of drugs,\u00a0 facilities and obstetric material,\u00a0 in order to ensure, in accordance with number of patients and prescriptions, a rational use, as well as pharmacy stock levels, are permanently updated,\u00a0 kept under appropriate conditions and above minimum safety point.<\/li>\n<li>1\u00a0\u00a0BEmONC\u00a0 =\u00a0 basic emergency obstetric and neonatal care\u00a0 =\u00a0 Administration of antibiotics, oxytocics, anticonvulsants, manual removal of the placenta, removal of\u00a0retained\u00a0products following abortion, assisted vaginal delivery, preferably with\u00a0vacuum\u00a0extractor and newborn care including neonatal resuscitation.\u00a0 2\u00a0\u00a0CEmONC\u00a0 =\u00a0 comprehensive obstetric and neonatal care\u00a0 =\u00a0 the full package of\u00a0\u00a0BEmONC\u00a0 Plus;\u00a0 surgery (caesarean section, hysterectomy,\u00a0laparatomy), safe blood transfusion and care to sick and low birth weight newborns.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>MSF Section \/ Context Specific Accountabilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Collaborate with mental health team whenever needed<\/li>\n<li>Participating in data collection and documentation of department activities and keeping supervisors informed.<\/li>\n<li>Community engagement:\u00a0 when requested by\u00a0supervisor,\u00a0 visit the community\u00a0in order\u00a0to support Traditional Birth Attendants and \/or Health Promoter team in health education and care of both pregnant, post-delivery.<\/li>\n<li>Medical care of victims of sexual violence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Education: Essential Midwifery qualification or specialization.\u00a0 Desired Bachelor in Midwifery Experience: Essential working experience of at least two years in midwife activities related jobs.<\/li>\n<li>Languages: English and Hausa essential, Local languages Mandra, Kanuri desirable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Results<\/li>\n<li>Teamwork<\/li>\n<li>Flexibility<\/li>\n<li>Commitment<\/li>\n<li>Service<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Salary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>NGN3,949,153 (Annual Basic salary + 13thMonth).
