We are recruiting to fill the position of:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Finance and Operations Support Officer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Locations:\u00a0<\/strong>Damaturu \u2013 Yobe, &amp; Maiduguri \u2013 Borno<br \/>\n<strong>Reporting To:<\/strong> Finance and Operations Officer (NE)<br \/>\n<strong>Slots:<\/strong> 2<\/p>\n<p><strong>Role Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The position will be responsible for supporting financial, operational and administrative management of Alert\u2019s scope of work of an EU-funded consortium project led by Save the Children, to Support Early Recovery from Conflict and Resilience Building in Yobe and Borno States.<\/li>\n<li>One position is based in Damaturu with travel to implementation sites in Yobe State; and the other position is based in Maiduguri with travel to implementation sites in Borno states.<\/li>\n<li>The FOSO will ensure that all of Alert\u2019s finance, operations and administration actions are compliant with donor and internal policies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>\nFinancial management:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain petty cash float<\/li>\n<li>Provide capacity-building support and spot-check visits to partner organizations<\/li>\n<li>Thoroughly review all partner financial reports and ensure collaboration with project manager for coherence between workplan and expenses reported<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and submit monthly financial report and documents to the country office<\/li>\n<li>Prepare fund requests for Alert office running costs and service providers in a timely manner<\/li>\n<li>Review all staff activity and travel expenditure requests and advance retirements for processing<\/li>\n<li>Support project managers in preparing partner budgets and fund requests<\/li>\n<li>Ensure value for money, transparency, and compliance in all expenditure and ensure that records are properly filed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Logistics:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare a project procurement plan for all equipment and assets<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that all local procurement is conducted transparently and with adherence to Alert and donor policy. Conduct due diligence assessment of suppliers<\/li>\n<li>Ensure update of Damaturu\/Maiduguri office inventory and tagging of all assets<\/li>\n<li>Organize logistics (transport, accommodation) for visitors to Yobe\/Borno<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Security:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participate in updating of the country security plan and ensure that Alert\u2019s country security plan is adhered to by all staff in Yobe\/Borno<\/li>\n<li>Prepare SOP documents for each LGA in Yobe\/ Borno where Alert is operational<\/li>\n<li>Ensure necessary security equipment is procured and maintained<\/li>\n<li>Attend INSO security meetings and share information with colleagues as needed<\/li>\n<li>Conduct security briefings for visitors to Yobe\/Borno<\/li>\n<li>Ensure close monitoring of the political and security environment and communicate to colleagues as necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain office first aid box and hibernation kit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Human resources:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Collect staff timesheets on a monthly basis<\/li>\n<li>Support administrative management of staff &amp; record-keeping (emergency contacts, insurance, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Other relevant tasks as required by the line manager<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications and Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least 1 year of experience working in Yobe\/ Borno State<\/li>\n<li>Excellent coordination and communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work under pressure and in a high-risk security environment<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to travel regularly to rural locations<\/li>\n<li>Relevant degree: accounting, security and logistics certifications would be an asset<\/li>\n<li>At least 3 years working in finance and operations; experience with an INGO would be an asset<\/li>\n<li>Strong competence working with Excel; knowledge of SUN System and other financial tools would be an asset<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Language Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>English fluency (oral and written), Hausa fluency<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of other languages prevalent in Yobe and Borno State would be an advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Travel:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 staff Based in Damaturu with regular travel to Yobe LGAs, and 1 in Maiduguri with regular Borno LGAs; and sporadic travel to Alert\u2019s Abuja office<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should send in a CV of maximum 3 pages and a Cover Letter maximum 2 pages (Include your salary requirements in your application) to:\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:nigeria@internaional-alert.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">nigeria@internaional-alert.org<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0using the \u201cJob Title\u201d as the subject of the email.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline\u00a0<\/strong>27th March, 2020.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applications that do not follow the above requirements will not be considered.<\/li>\n<li>This position is only open to Nigerian nationals.<\/li>\n<li>Please note that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
