SNV Ghana implements projects to improve individual lives and contributes to solving global challenges in the areas of Agriculture, Energy, and Water, Sanitation &amp; Hygiene.<\/p>\n<p>SNV\u2019s implementation approach focuses on developing innovative solutions to alleviate poverty through sustainable and locally-led development. We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Project Manager, Horticulture<br \/>\nLocation:<\/strong>\u00a0Abuja, Nigeria<br \/>\n<strong>Job Type:<\/strong> Full-time<br \/>\n<strong>Contract Duration:<\/strong> 1 year International Employment Contract, with strong possibility of extension<br \/>\n<strong>Expected Start Date:<\/strong> May 2020<br \/>\n<strong>Contract type:<\/strong> International employment contract<\/p>\n<p><strong>Project Background<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The team leader will steer a team of around 7 staff in Abuja and additional field staff. As this would be SNV\u2019s first project in Nigeria, the project manager will also represent SNV in Nigeria and has limited additional responsibilities regarding SNV Nigeria profiling and development of new projects.<\/li>\n<li>The project will have a field office in Kaduna, and perhaps also expand to other states at a later phase. The initial phase of the project is for four years.<\/li>\n<li>The team leader will report a SNV country director based in one of the neighboring countries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><br \/>\nThe incumbent is responsible for leadership and coordination of program planning and management; coordination of programmatic themes; political analysis and will be in charge of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Execute overall project management;<\/li>\n<li>Guide the project set-up, including developing work plans, budgets and competence table with financial responsibilities and mandates;<\/li>\n<li>Build, strengthen and manage partnerships with regional governments, key partners, institutions and stakeholders;<\/li>\n<li>Manage donor relations;<\/li>\n<li>Overall management of all human, physical and financial resources related to the project;<\/li>\n<li>Monitor performance of the project management team to ensure all milestones set in the annual work plan are met, develop mitigation plans to reduce risks and take corrective actions to remedy any deviation from the work plans;<\/li>\n<li>Account and report to SNV and the donor on project performance;<\/li>\n<li>Guide knowledge development, documentation and communication and branding in close collaboration with donor;<\/li>\n<li>Identify follow-up funding and partnership possibilities and business development.<\/li>\n<li>Manage change processes related to\u00a0 market systems, supply chain and sector development, enabling environment,\u00a0 , development of Public-Private Partnerships, etc. in the horticulture and potato sectors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A relevant post-graduate qualification in Business Administration, Agronomy, Agricultural Economy or related field;<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 10 years of progressive responsibility and work experience in managing and implementing multi-faceted donor-funded development projects, preferably in Africa;<\/li>\n<li>Several years of experience with market development, value chain analysis and inclusive business;<\/li>\n<li>Solid experience in project management, fund management and budgeting, preferably at least 8 years of which at least three years in a difficult context.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent social and networking skills, ability to engage with the private sector, civil society, donors and governments;<\/li>\n<li>Able to strategically inspire and energies project teams;<\/li>\n<li>Multidisciplinary profile to support the different specialists in the team;<\/li>\n<li>Experience in Monitoring and Evaluation;<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience in managing various stakeholders;<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication (written and oral), reporting and presentation skills;<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in English is required (French is an advantage);<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to travel to all project locations.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in horticulture, potato sector, nutrition sensitive agriculture, fragile economies, and seed sector will be an advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should:<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/jobs.smartrecruiters.com\/SNV\/743999710109743-project-manager-horticulture\" target=\"_blank\">Click here to apply online<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>19th April, 2020<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you believe that your credentials meet the above profile, we invite you to apply by submitting your CV that in English with a cover letter.<\/li>\n<li>All information will be in the strictest confidence.\u00a0 We will revert to you as soon as feasible when we have reviewed your application.<\/li>\n<li>We will require that you provide us with full details of three people who are willing to act as a referee.\u00a0 We will not contact these referees without your explicit permission.<\/li>\n<li>Should SNV wish to proceed with your application, two interviews with the Selection Committee will take place.<\/li>\n<li>Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SNV Netherlands Development is a not-for-profit international development organization that has built a long-term local presence in 38 countries in Asia, Africa and Latin-America.
