We are recruiting to fill the position of:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Network Engineer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Victoria Island, Lagos<\/p>\n<p><strong>Short Summary Of The Job<\/strong><br \/>\nReporting to the Head of Engineering, this role will be responsible for participating in IP network operation, infrastructure connectivity and security planning as well as development.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Duties &amp; Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participate in IP network operation, infrastructure connectivity, security planning as well as development<\/li>\n<li>Support network design and implementation for core and client networks<\/li>\n<li>Ensure all IP devices are secured and within operational limits<\/li>\n<li>Support daily IP network operation, project management and services monitoring<\/li>\n<li>Conduct network analyzing and troubleshooting<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate with Regional IP Registry<\/li>\n<li>Document all network changes<\/li>\n<li>Other task assigned by line manager.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><br \/>\nEssential Skills \/ Knowledge:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A minimum of 5 years of experience in IP Network and System Support<\/li>\n<li>LAN\/WAN technology including: TCP\/IP (routers, configuration and setup), Security (firewalls \u2013 Cisco, Juniper, Barracuda), Network management (switches, hubs, fiber-optic, cabling, packet sniffing)<\/li>\n<li>Advanced knowledge in Router, Catalyst, Load Balancer, Firewall, Security, Internet Connection, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP4, VPN, Frame Relay, TCP\/IP, LAN\/ WAN, VLAN, Spanning Tree, Ethereal<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge in Unix\/ Linux, Shell script, IDS, QoS, Video\/ Streaming Protocols,<\/li>\n<li>Experience designing last mile access solutions for different environments (DSL, microwave radio, PTP and PTP radio, fibre etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Strong written and oral communications skills in English<\/li>\n<li>Willing to perform work or provide support outside office hours<\/li>\n<li>Highly motivated and resourceful<\/li>\n<li>Must be a team player and be able to prioritize different request and requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Hand-on design and operation of network like BGP and MPLS<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desirable Skills \/ Knowledge:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in ISP and managing a sizable IP network<\/li>\n<li>Experience in liaising with Regional IP Registry (APNIC, RIPE, AfriNIC etc)<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of structure cabling and VoIP<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Education and \/ or Professional Qualification:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelors degree in Electronics\/Communications\/Network\/Computer Engineering (or equivalent)<\/li>\n<li>IP Certification, preferably from Cisco on CCNP level equivalent or above.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/netcomafrica.odoo.com\/jobs\/detail\/network-engineer-96\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Click here to apply online<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>Not Specified.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Netcom has been Nigeria\u2019s leading Internet Service Provider since 2004, staying ahead of the competition with cutting edge platforms in VSAT, WIMAX, Radio, and Fiber technology.
