We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Project Assistant \u2013 WaSH<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Jere, Monguno LGA, Borno<br \/>\n<strong>Slot:<\/strong> 2 Openings<\/p>\n<p><strong>ZOA\u2019s Programme in Nigeria<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ZOA started operations in Nigeria December 2016, supporting IDPs and returnees of Boko Haram affected states.<\/li>\n<li>In the selection of the beneficiaries, we pay careful attention to include the most vulnerable households.<\/li>\n<li>Continuously promoting community governance, inclusion, peace and stability in these fragmented and traumatized communities is a challenging but essential part of ZOA\u2019s programme.<\/li>\n<li>ZOA currently have full team in Borno State; respond to the critical needs in Food Security and livelihood and Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Purpose of the position<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The WaSH Assistant supports the Project Manager WaSH in the implementation of WaSH project activities in Jere and Monguno LGAs, Nigeria.<\/li>\n<li>These activities are centred on mainstreaming COVID-19 prevention in existing food security and WaSH activities in the project locations.<\/li>\n<li>He\/she will report to the Project Manager WaSH on the progress of his\/her activities. The position is based in Monguno, ZOA Nigeria.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Tasks and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In close collaboration with the WASH officer and Project Manager, support hygiene promotion and COVID-19 prevention awareness activities within communities<\/li>\n<li>Assist the WASH officer\/Project Manager in implementing the behavior change methodologies including (PHAST) and CHAST for the WASH programs.<\/li>\n<li>Supervise activities of hygiene promoters, community volunteers and WASH Committees (WASHCOMs)<\/li>\n<li>Participate in the development of information, education and communication (IEC) materials relevant to the context; with appreciation of cultural norms and beliefs.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct himself\/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to ZOA and to not jeopardize its humanitarian mission;<\/li>\n<li>Develop key productions to increase ZOA\u2019s communication within local communities in Monguno to promote program activities and increase awareness and acceptance;<\/li>\n<li>Participate in data collection activities, i.e., baseline, end line, Knowledge, Attitude and Practices<\/li>\n<li>(KAP) and household surveys including beneficiary\u2019s identification and registration<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to weekly and monthly reports and other ad hoc reports to meet donor and internal requirements; maintain an accurate reporting and data management of activities (including an updated attendance sheets for hygiene promotion sessions).<\/li>\n<li>Conduct trainings, support and participate in distribution activities<\/li>\n<li>Any other task relevant to the position as requested by the WASH officer or WASH [Deputy] Project Manager.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Accountability:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>With support of the PM and MEAL team, manage and educate project communities and beneficiaries about ZOA\u2019s safe complaints\/feedback and response mechanisms;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the holding of monthly or period community\/beneficiaries feedback meetings<\/li>\n<li>Document, protect and account for complaints and feedback received from communities<\/li>\n<li>Receive, refer and or respond to complaints\/feedbacks receive from communities and beneficiaries<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that beneficiaries are aware of their rights under the project implementation<\/li>\n<li>Any other duty that is reasonably consistent with the key tasks of the function.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>External Contacts:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Community members and community leaders;<\/li>\n<li>Vendors and contractors;<\/li>\n<li>Other organizations<\/li>\n<li>Any other stakeholders in project implementation at community level;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Internal Contacts:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Project staff;<\/li>\n<li>ZOA office staff;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Competencies<\/strong><br \/>\nIdentity:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The candidate is expected to support the identity, vision, and mission of ZOA<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge\/Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of Diploma in related field.<\/li>\n<li>At least 1-2 years\u2019 previous experience in implementing hygiene promotion<\/li>\n<li>Proven skills in computer programs (Word, Excel; minimum)<\/li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Excellent skills in report writing and meeting date lines<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to work in volatile environment<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of SPHERE minimum standard, humanitarian principles and protection mainstreaming in WASH intervention<\/li>\n<li>Competence in English,<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of spoken and or written Hausa, Kanuri and or Shuwa will be added advantage<\/li>\n<li>Residency within the project location is an added value.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates\u00a0should forward their CV and Cover Letter to:\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:recruitment.nigeria@zoa.ngo\">recruitment.nigeria@zoa.ngo<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0clearly indicate the position applying for in the subject line of application<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>5:00pm; 27th April, 2020.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ZOA are an international NGO with its Head Quarters in The Netherlands.
