Often seen as the biggest single generating power station in Sub-Saharan Africa, it was built to meet the every rising demand for electricity in Lagos and its environs.<\/p>\n<p>Following the nation\u2019s privatization exercise, Sahara, through its power division, Sahara Power Group and sundry affiliations, acquired the 1320 MW installed capacity Egbin Power Plant. We are working towards deploying a minimum of 5,000 MW of electricity generation over the next five years. We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Logistics Manager<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location<\/strong>: Ijede, Ikorodu, Lagos<br \/>\n<strong>Job Type:<\/strong> Full Time<br \/>\n<strong>Level:<\/strong> Manager \/ Supervisor<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure availability of the right quality and quantity of the required material for the plant.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Duties &amp; Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Take ownership of shipping &amp; transportation and logistics arrangements for all procurement activities<\/li>\n<li>Management of third party logistics service providers<\/li>\n<li>Possess good knowledge of the INCOTERMS and explore the most suitable for every transaction.<\/li>\n<li>Good understanding of industry limitations and regulations.<\/li>\n<li>Develop new strategies to streamline processes and reduce cost<\/li>\n<li>Execute logistics plan for inbound and outbound spares for delivery to destination as scheduled<\/li>\n<li>Assess and recommend ideal shipping methods, routing or carriers to meet necessary parameters, specifications and costs<\/li>\n<li>Perform metrics reporting and data analysis tasks to identify issues and opportunities for process improvements<\/li>\n<li>Ensure optimum cost savings on all logistics related activities by providing and exploring available tax exemption windows<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with the relevant authorities for import and other statutory clearances required for procurement and imports<\/li>\n<li>Evaluate proposals from various freights forwarders to ascertain the most competitive and reliable means of importations and clearance.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain good relationship with customs,shipping\/logistics agents and port authorities<\/li>\n<li>Assist in automation and integration of the supply chain function<\/li>\n<li>Coordination with transporters and freight agents for timely delivery of goods<\/li>\n<li>Prompt processing of permits for clearance of Imported Consignment and payment of duties and taxes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Logistics, Business Administration, Transportation, or Engineering.<\/li>\n<li>Post graduate degree in logistics, supply chain or any relevant field will be an added advantage<\/li>\n<li>5 &#8211; 7 years of experience working in logistics, warehouse, or transportation operations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills &amp; Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Technical knowledge of mechanical and non-mechanical materials<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of supply chain management<\/li>\n<li>Market and vendor knowledge for contract management<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of\u00a0 policies, procedures and guidelines for supply chain management<\/li>\n<li>Strong attention to details<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of regulatory norms on taxation, duties, import policies<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of contract and commercial law<\/li>\n<li>Quality management skills<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and application of IT systems in contracts management<\/li>\n<li>Strong Time Management skills<\/li>\n<li>Good negotiation and bargaining skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/careers.sahara-group.com\/apply\/e6QuvDdDiQ\/Logistics-Manager\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Click here to apply online<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>Not Specified<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>: Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Egbin Power Plc.
