We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Finance Technical Assistant<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Dikwa, Borno<br \/>\n<strong>Webcruiter ID:<\/strong> 4255034311<br \/>\n<strong>Reports to:<\/strong> The Field Office Coordinator<br \/>\n<strong>Full Time \/ Part-time:<\/strong> Full-time<br \/>\n<strong>Employment Type:<\/strong> Contract<\/p>\n<p><strong>Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>NRC is looking for a Finance Technical Assistant for our field office in Dikwa, Borno State, Northern Nigeria. The purpose of the Finance Technical Assistant is to support program activities in Dikwa.<\/li>\n<li>NRC initiated country operations in Nigeria in June 2015, in order to respond to the critical and increasing needs in the country. NRC currently has a full team based in Maiduguri and a coordination office in Abuja.<\/li>\n<li>NRC is currently providing services across various sectors namely; Shelter and Non-Food Items (NFI); Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion (WASH); Food Security; Information, Counselling and Legal Assistance (ICLA) and Education in order to address identified humanitarian needs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Duties and responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure that cash is kept properly, payment process and other financial processes take place in adherence to Financial Handbook, other NRC policies and donor and the authorities requirements<\/li>\n<li>Make sure that daily cash counts are maintained.<\/li>\n<li>Be the focal person between Area Office and Field office in regard to funds transfer requests and other payments through the bank.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure timely clearance of field office cash box.<\/li>\n<li>Be responsible for the release of payment to contractors &amp; other payments as stipulated in the contract\/agreement(s) &amp; in line with NRC policies and procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure control for the prevention of waste, fraud, and mismanagement before processing the payments.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure the posting of transactions is done on a daily basis.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure payments are processed on time<\/li>\n<li>Be responsible for bank transactions in line with NRC policy and procedures;<\/li>\n<li>Posting of income and cost into bank cash boxes i.e. USD and NGN daily basis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Preferably a degree in Finance, Economics or any other related Course<\/li>\n<li>Microsoft Office Application<\/li>\n<li>Documented results related to the position\u2019s responsibilities<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Local Language (Hausa, Kanuri)<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work as a member of the team<\/li>\n<li>Previous (2yrs) experience working in a finance and support functions department (preferably INGO)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Personal qualities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Handling insecure environment<\/li>\n<li>Planning and delivering results<\/li>\n<li>Empowering and building trust<\/li>\n<li>Communicating with impact and respect<\/li>\n<li>A good sense of humour is an asset<\/li>\n<li>All employees of the Norwegian Refugee Council should be able to adhere to our Code of Conduct and the four organizational values: Dedicated, innovative, inclusive and accountable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>We Can Offer<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Commencement: July 2020<\/li>\n<li>Duration: 7 months (renewable)<\/li>\n<li>Salary\/benefits: According to NRC\u2019s general directions.<\/li>\n<li>Duty station: Dikwa, with frequent travels.
