For over 38 years the association has focused on meeting three vital needs \u2013 water, food and shelter.<\/p>\n<p>Currently present in Nigeria since 2016, SI carries out emergency \/ post-emergency programs in WASH sector in North East region. We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Cook<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Maiduguri, Borno<\/p>\n<p><strong>Description of the Position<\/strong><br \/>\nGoal\/Purpose:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The cook is responsible for preparing meals on request for Solidarit\u00e9s International expatriate staff, in accordance with the rules of hygiene.<\/li>\n<li>He\/she is also responsible for purchasing the food and equipment necessary for this work, and the maintenance of his\/her workspace.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Main Tasks<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Keep the kitchen, cooking utensils and refrigerator clean.\u00a0 Disinfect the refrigerator regularly.<\/li>\n<li>Inform his\/her line manager of any cooking equipment required and of any missing or damaged materials<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and clean the dining area before and after meals<\/li>\n<li>Manage food and commodity stocks for expatriate accommodation<\/li>\n<li>Prepare meals according to the fixed number of people and definite planning, checking that the food is healthy and the menus varied<\/li>\n<li>Respect the essential hygiene regulations and maintain exemplary conditions of hygiene in the kitchen and storage areas<\/li>\n<li>Monitor the provision of filtered water to living and working areas, ensuring that water filters are disinfected regularly<\/li>\n<li>Wash plates, dishes, cutlery<\/li>\n<li>Buy the produce required for meal preparation, within the fixed budget<\/li>\n<li>Keep a log recording all expenditure and regularly settle advances relating to the purchase of food<\/li>\n<li>Evaluate fuel needs and monitor fuel consumption<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Profile<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Studies: Any Degree in Food &amp; Nutrition\/Technology, Hospitality Management, or any relevant field<\/li>\n<li>Experience: Minimum of 1 year of similar experience<\/li>\n<li>Languages: English (Hausa \u2013 Added Advantage)<\/li>\n<li>Skills: Ability to cook various meals (African &amp; European)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested and qualified candidates should send their Applications to:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:hr.coo.deputy@solidarites-nigeria.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>hr.coo.deputy@solidarites-nigeria.org<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0Subject of email must be \u201cCook Maiduguri\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>28th June, 2020.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The CV attached must be saved with your name and surname only<\/li>\n<li>As position is required as soon as possible, Solidarites International reserves the right to select a candidate and finalize the recruitment before the final date<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Solidarites International (SI) is a French humanitarian organization which provides aid and assistance to victims of war or natural disaster.
