We are recruiting to fill the position of:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Financial Controller<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Abuja<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Financial Controller will undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation.<\/li>\n<li>The Finance Controller responsibilities will also include tax management and administration, performance management and act as a consultant for senior managers, conducting cost and revenues analyses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><br \/>\nManagement Accounting:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintains and enforces a documented system of accounting policies and procedures<\/li>\n<li>Manage outsourced functions<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including managing the organizational structure adequate for achieving the department&#8217;s goals and objectives<\/li>\n<li>Oversee accounting operations of the company and its subsidiaries<\/li>\n<li>Create an organizational structure within the accounting department to facilitate the achievement of the department\u2019s short-term goals and long-term objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Manage and mentor junior personnel in the accounting department.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Transaction:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis<\/li>\n<li>Maintain the chart of accounts and manage GL for accuracy<\/li>\n<li>Management of tax- VAT, WHT, PAYE. Liaise with the company\u2019s tax consultant, auditor and regulators for efficient tax management<\/li>\n<li>Advise and liaise with Operations on transaction postings to ensure that the correct GL are credited or debited<\/li>\n<li>Maintain an orderly accounting filing system<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Financial Reporting and Budgeting:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual management account for management and regulators.<\/li>\n<li>Issue timely and complete financial statements.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report.<\/li>\n<li>Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations.<\/li>\n<li>Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics.<\/li>\n<li>Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts.<\/li>\n<li>Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.<\/li>\n<li>Provide for a system of management cost reports.<\/li>\n<li>Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that financial reports comply with current accounting principles and financial reporting standards.<\/li>\n<li>Publish complete and timely financial statements to company executives, shareholders, and the board.<\/li>\n<li>Account for any budget variances and report significant discrepancies to management.<\/li>\n<li>Recommend benchmarks for the measurement of company financial performance goals.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for the filing of quarterly and annual reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Compliance:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide regulatory reports to compliance department for rendition<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit<\/li>\n<li>Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants<\/li>\n<li>Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Experience &amp; Qualification<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of Second Class degree in Accounting or Finance. Master\u2019s Degree is an added advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Chartered Accountant (ACA\/ACCA) with a minimum of 6 years working experience in the finance sector- Commercial Bank, Merchant Bank, Finance House or National Microfinance Bank.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with financial reporting requirements- IFRS and IAS<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience with the use EasyBank Application<\/li>\n<li>Good knowledge of SEC and CBN policies on financial reporting<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience in liaising with Auditors<\/li>\n<li>Ability to pay keen attention to details.<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical and decision making skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Competence Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of accounting and financial reporting standards- IFRS and IAS<\/li>\n<li>Use of EasyBank Application<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytics and problem solving skills<\/li>\n<li>Vast across accounting and finance spectrum- Financial, Management, Tax, Audit and financial investigation<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites Word, Excel and Access.<\/li>\n<li>Able to work well in a team and on own initiative.<\/li>\n<li>Database Management<\/li>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Energetic and with sound decision making skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should send their CV to:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:careers@norrenberger.com\"><strong>careers@norrenberger.com<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0using the Job Title as subject of the email<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>31st July, 2020.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Norrenberger is an Integrated Financial Services Group (Licensed &amp;
