Job Title: <\/strong>Fibre Equipment specialist
\nDepartment:\u00a0Capital Programs Group
\nLocation:\u00a0Lagos<\/p>\n

Job Description:\u00a0Capex budget Management:
\n\u2022Ensure variation orders are minimal for all fibre equipment projects under implementation
\n\u2022Ensure minimal inventory cost bordering basically on impairment of fibre materials
\n\u2022Ensure that cost of implementing fibre projects is within budget
\nMonthly Rollout Targets Management:
\n\u2022Ensure minimal delay of national and metropolitan (including NFEs) fibre delivery targets
\n\u2022Ensure minimal impact of logistics and procurement issues relating to fibre equipment projects delivery
\n\u2022Ensure excellent quality of fibre projects delivery monthly
\nEnsure quality of implementation adhere to defined standard:
\n\u2022Ensure that all segments and spans of fibre equipment projects timelines are strictly followed by contractors
\n\u2022Ensure completeness and standard material order such as optical equipment and fibre optic cables for fibre delivery projects
\n\u2022Ensure that all fibre network installations meet MTN Quality and international standards, such as ITU Recommendations on Fibre deployment
\nOther Generic Tasks
\n\u2022Review detailed fibre designs with NWG Planning and Operations and add inputs in deployment of fibre equipment projects
\n\u2022Survey and produce suitable implementation procedures for fibre equipment projects
\n\u2022Ensure testing, commissioning, acceptance and integration of fibre equipment
\n\u2022Provide high level support to all fibre equipment vendors\/installation contractors
\n\u2022Ensure contractors adherence to MTNN\u2019s SHE policy
\n\u2022Ensure that fibre equipment projects are delivered on time and to the highest quality standard as stipulated by MTN standard and specifications
\n\u2022Process and follow up of purchase orders and certificate of completion for fibre equipments
\n\u2022Ensure proper archiving procedure for all completed MTN fibre equipment network projects
\n\u2022Participate and add inputs to weekly operational fibre equipment network meetings with implementation contractors
\n\u2022Monitor, collate, and submit weekly progress report on fibre equipment projects under implementation to fibre management team
\n\u2022Coordinate final acceptance test and handover of completed fibre equipment network to NWG Operations unit
\n\u2022Ensure the digitalization of all completed fibre equipment projects
\nJob Conditions: Open Plan Office Normal MTNN working conditions Extended working hours may be required overtime<\/p>\n

Reporting To: National Fibre Implementation Manager<\/p>\n

Required Skills:<\/strong>
\n\u2022At least 4 years working experience comprising:
\n\u2022Experience in the Telecommunication industry
\n\u2022Excellent knowledge in Telecommunication equipment in the areas of installation, Operation and Maintenance
\n\u2022Good knowledge on Optical Transmission Technology
\n\u2022Experience in managing and suggesting solutions to application\u2019s problem Work with vendors at arriving and implementing solutions identified
\n\u2022Experience in Fibre equipment management
\n\u2022Excellent knowledge on interoperability of Telecom sub-networks
\n\u2022Good Knowledge of Fibre Optic Network Planning, Deployment Operation and Maintenance
\nEmployment Status :
\nPermanent<\/p>\n

Job Qualification:<\/strong>
\nFirst degree in Electronics\/ Communication Engineering\/Electrical Engineering or any other related field<\/p>\n
