Launched in 1994, the MTN Group is a multinational telecommunications group, operating in 21 countries in Africa and the Middle East. As at the end of December 2006, MTN recorded more than 40 million subscribers across its operations.<\/p>\n

Generic<\/strong>
\n\u2022Co-ordinate the development and implementation of finance policies, processes and procedures; ensuring compliance with GAAP requirements and international accounting standards
\n\u2022Provide support to GM, CFO and CEO in preparation and maintenance of strategic plans
\n\u2022Design and implement frameworks that ensure timely reporting of key performance metrics
\n\u2022Co-ordinate month-end and year-end reporting activities, ensuring compliance with the Group\u2019s directives and guidelines
\n\u2022Make informed decisions from analysed data to facilitate operational efficiency
\n\u2022Develop strategy to manage and resolve all escalated issues
\n\u2022Develop and monitor internal controls
\n\u2022Oversee all activities related to periodic internal and external audits and other statutory and regulatory requirements
\n\u2022Manage and safeguard company fixed and current assets
\n\u2022Develop strategy for efficient optimisation of relevant databases and systems
\n\u2022Provide relevant reports\/ submissions to MTNN Management and Board
\n\u2022Drive relevant MTN Group projects as required<\/p>\n

Revenue Management<\/strong>
\n\u2022Ensure all financial resources accruing to the business from all its revenue streams are properly accounted for
\n\u2022Develop new revenue reporting parameters and initiatives to meet business needs
\n\u2022Support resolution of revenue leakage issues in conjunction with the Revenue Assurance Team
\n\u2022Ensure accurate billing of wholesale call records for the optimisation of MTN\u2019s carrier revenue elements
\n\u2022Review agreements, contracts and deal structures in respect of co-location, interconnect, roaming and value added services
\n\u2022Provide input to overall revenue budgeting, modelling, long range plans and forecasting to management
\n\u2022Ensure prompt settlement and collection of interconnect debt
\n\u2022Negotiate interconnect rates and commercial terms with local and international operators
\n\u2022Manage and ensure resolution of disputes with interconnect, roaming and value-added services partners
\n\u2022Ensure quarterly remittance of NCC levy
\nJob Conditions: Normal MTN N working conditions Extended working hours Deal with a lot of paper work Move around MTN locations to have a firsthand view of what is on site
\nReporting To: General Manager – Financial Operations<\/p>\n

Required Skills:<\/strong>
\n\u2022Minimum of 12 years post-NYSC experience in core accounting function
\n\u2022At least 2 years managerial experience in finance functions in a multinational company
\n\u2022Knowledge of internal control systems
\n\u2022Knowledge of applicable International Accounting Standards, IFRS, GAAP, etc
\n\u2022Experience in Finance functions in the telecommunications industry would be an added advantage<\/p>\n

Job Qualification:<\/strong>
\nA BSc\/HND degree in any relevant field of study A recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA)<\/p>\n
