We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0ICT Helpdesk Analyst<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Locations<\/strong>: Abuja, Nigeria, Harare, Zimbabwe, Juba, South Sudan, Lilongwe, Malawi, Nairobi, Kenya, Ouaga, Burkina Faso, Tshikapa, DRC<br \/>\n<strong>Type of contract:<\/strong> Fixed Term<br \/>\n<strong>Contracted hours:<\/strong> 35<br \/>\n<strong>Contract length:<\/strong> 1 year<br \/>\n<strong>Department:<\/strong> Corporate Services<br \/>\n<strong>Reports to (Job Title):<\/strong> Senior Applications Support Analyst<br \/>\n<strong>Salary Band:<\/strong> E mid<br \/>\n<strong>Competency level:<\/strong> 2 Role definition<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Role<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Helpdesk Analyst role is a new position within ICT, providing first-line support to all Christian Aid staff, regardless of location.\u00a0 The team will comprise three post holders, all based in Christian Aid \/ Change Alliance offices outside of the UK.<\/li>\n<li>The creation of this role, and the implementation of a new Service Delivery function within ICT, is an attempt to standardise support to all Christian Aid staff globally, by providing consistent first-line interactions: through the Jira portal, telephone and Email.<\/li>\n<li>The majority of support requests raised by CA staff are expected to be dealt with at first-line level, and \u2013 working with the Lead Support Analyst, based in London \u2013 the post holders will work to define processes for standard requests that are currently escalated to second line support on a regular basis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Role Context and purpose<\/strong><br \/>\nTo provide first line ICT support, as part of the Service Desk. Role purpose:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contribute to the provision of an effective and efficient ICT support service to Christian Aid\u2019s global staff, in line with customer service standards.<\/li>\n<li>Diagnose, document and escalate issues to other support teams within ICT as needed.<\/li>\n<li>When necessary, act as part of the Emergency Response Team within region of employment.<\/li>\n<li>When necessary, assist with elements of office setup and closedown within region of employment.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with the translation of instructions or procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Respond to technical support calls\/enquiries (regardless of origin); determine appropriate solutions and implement them, working to resolve as many calls as possible upon first point of contact within agreed procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Deliver effective and efficient administration of user network and systems accounts and set-up, installation and configuration of hardware &amp; software.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Deliverables:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Issues are attended to (by telephone, Email or through Christian Aid\u2019s helpdesk software) professionally and competently.<\/li>\n<li>A high number of problems and requests are resolved \u201cfirst time\u201d by following standard procedures and the appropriate use of initiative.<\/li>\n<li>Escalated issues are passed to other ICT teams in an appropriate way, having first been triaged and diagnosed as far as possible.<\/li>\n<li>Internal customers are highly satisfied with the level of support provided.<\/li>\n<li>Changes are well managed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Role Agility<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Expected national travel per annum: Occasional travel<\/li>\n<li>Expected international travel per annum: Occasional travel<\/li>\n<li>On call\/unsocial hours: No<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Note: In order to respond to ever changing demands within the environment, Christian Aid operates within an agile framework (both in workforce and operational) that requires from all employees, a high level of responsiveness and adaptiveness to processes and structures making flexibility and a project based working approach the norm. To sustain this system, managers may\/will agree further details of specific tasks and duties as part of the performance agreement. Any reasonable duty may be assigned that is consistent with the nature of the job and its level of responsibility, and employees may be required to change the focus of their role from time to time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Person specification<\/strong><br \/>\nApplied Skills \/ knowledge and expertise:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Essential:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>A+ Certification hardware and software support skills or equivalent.<\/li>\n<li>HND in IT Technology or Computer Science.<\/li>\n<li>ITIL procedures and LAN and WAN principles.<\/li>\n<li>Proven substantial computing experience in a technical environment of delivering effective support for current Microsoft Windows and Office products; network administration of user accounts using Active Directory and Exchange mail server; hardware and software installation and troubleshooting; use of remote desktop support tools.<\/li>\n<li>Substantial experience of tracking work and meeting deadlines, including the use of helpdesk system<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Desirable:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>ITIL foundation or customer care certification<\/li>\n<li>MCP or MCSE certification<\/li>\n<li>Experience of working in the charity sector<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Digital\/IT competencies required:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Word, Excel, PowerPoint: Advanced<\/li>\n<li>Web content design &amp; development: N\/A<\/li>\n<li>Internet based collaboration tools and video calling: Advanced<\/li>\n<li>Social Media N\/A<\/li>\n<li>Data Visualisation N\/A<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Role Requirements<\/strong><br \/>\nRelationships:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>External: Third party suppliers<\/li>\n<li>Internal: All internal customers, other ICT staff<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Decision Making:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Acts as a primary interface between ICT and the rest of the organisation in respect of support calls.<\/li>\n<li>Responds to technical support calls\/enquiries, determines appropriate solutions and implements them, working to resolve as many calls as possible upon first point of contact within agreed procedures. Has technical responsibility for work performed and decisions taken. Has access to secure systems and information. Replaces faulty equipment from stores and is responsible for liaising with 3rd party suppliers as necessary.
