We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Automotive Mechanic<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Announcement Number:<\/strong> Lagos-2020-034<br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Lagos<br \/>\n<strong> Series \/ Grade:<\/strong> LE \u2013 1020 5<br \/>\n<strong>Work Schedule:<\/strong> Full-time \u2013 48 hours per week<br \/>\n<strong>Promotion Potential:<\/strong> LE-5<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The work schedule for this position is: Full Time (48 hours per week)<\/li>\n<li>Start Date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (6 weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and\/or clearances\/certifications or their candidacy may end.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Duties<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The incumbent serves as a Maintenance Mechanic in General Services Office\/Motor pool (GSO)<\/li>\n<li>S\/he is responsible for the daily operation of vehicle maintenance and automotive service scheduling<\/li>\n<li>Provides quality control for major maintenance on vehicles and performing basic on-site maintenance on vehicles<\/li>\n<li>Performs major and minor overhaul and repair work to engines, transmissions, brake systems, springs, shocks absorbent, steering mechanisms, electrical, fuel and hydraulic systems, wheel assemblies, and other vehicles components.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications and Evaluations<\/strong><br \/>\nEducation Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Completion of Secondary School or received High School Diploma is required<\/li>\n<li>Vocational automotive repair training, journeyman mechanic, or apprenticeship certification is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience: Minimum of two years of experience as an automotive mechanic is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Job Knowledge:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Good working knowledge of vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting practices, commercial and local market costs for parts and supplies, local dealership and maintenance facilities for specialized auto servicing and repairs is required<\/li>\n<li>A good working knowledge of vehicle preventative maintenance and repair is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Evaluations:<\/strong><br \/>\nThis may be tested.
