As the administrative body of the region, CAF manages competitions, offers technical and administrative training courses while actively fostering the promotion and practice of football.<\/p>\n<p>The Confederation organizes championships such as the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN or AFCON), the most popular competition. It maintains very close links with FIFA in coordinating tournaments for different events such as the World Cup, Youth and Women competitions and the Olympic Games Football Tournaments. We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Senior Accountant<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Africa<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><br \/>\nSenior Accountant who can contribute to CAF\u2019s overall success by handling the following duties:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support adequate Preparation of financial statements on tight due dates<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that appropriate implementation of Accounting Standards (IFRS)<\/li>\n<li>Manage the accounting functions, including the general ledger accounts, and their registration<\/li>\n<li>Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded<\/li>\n<li>Support handling A\/P, A\/R and their registration<\/li>\n<li>Update financial data in databases to ensure that the information will be accurate and immediately available when needed<\/li>\n<li>Support Budget Preparation in details<\/li>\n<li>Establish contact with all related departments and parties to gather data and information<\/li>\n<li>Structure a reliable, flexible, and easy to deal with Budget formats covering all concerned items<\/li>\n<li>Consolidate all Budget gathered financial information to issue CAF\u2019s Budget<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and submit periodic Financial reports, including Budget reports (Actual Verses Budget)<\/li>\n<li>Analyse variances of actual verses budget with justifying reasons, (Calculate budget variances and report significant problems)<\/li>\n<li>Periodic update (monthly) on the status of the budget for each concerned department in relation to actual incurred amounts<\/li>\n<li>Authorize and approve all payments and incurred expenses with the set Budget<\/li>\n<li>Revisit initially issued Budget in the light of actual or new circumstances or events, and which may lead to issuance of an updated Budget<\/li>\n<li>Support the Finance Department in the preparation of monthly\/quarterly\/yearly closings,<\/li>\n<li>Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary,<\/li>\n<li>Handle the requirements of external auditors<\/li>\n<li>Supervise, direct, and manage accountants in the Finance team<\/li>\n<li>Adhere to CAF&#8217;s set Rules and Regulations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Accounting, and\/or Finance<\/li>\n<li>Master\u2019s Degree or CPA or Accounting equivalent preferred<\/li>\n<li>From 5 to 7 years of experience preferably in multinational or big local companies (Group companies with subsidiaries)<\/li>\n<li>Exposure, awareness, knowledge, and experience of financial statements preparations, IFS, and latest changes, financial reporting, general accounting knowledge, and accounting treatments and entries<\/li>\n<li>Preferably Audit experience in one of the big 4 Audit Firms<\/li>\n<li>Fluent in English and\/or French<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should:<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cafonline.com\/en-us\/caf\/careers\/JobDetails?JobId=zfo%2bi%2bOf%2fJyEGdwvv6FOgg%3d%3d\" target=\"_blank\">Click here to apply online<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>1st August, 2020.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong>\u00a0Only applications matching the requirements listed above will be considered<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Confederation of African Football (CAF) was founded in 1957 by four nations: Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia and South Africa.
