Officer \/ Experienced Opportunities<\/p>\n

Put your experience to work at Chevron Shipping Company (CSC) and you\u2019ll be part of a team with deep roots and an impressive history. In fact, CSC is one of Chevron\u2019s original operating entities. From the days when oil barrels were rolled onto the decks of sailing ships to present day supertankers, CSC has been the vital transportation link in safely bringing the world the energy it needs to thrive.<\/p>\n

CSC has opportunities for officers in our International Fleet and Mooring Masters in West Africa.

West African Opportunities<\/p>\n

If you are an Angolan or Nigerian National and would like to join our marine operations in your home country, we would like to hear from you. A valid STCW 95 license as a Deck or Engine Officer is required and tanker experience is preferred.<\/p>\n

Cadet \/ Training Opportunities<\/p>\n

Chevron\u2019s cadetship program prepares you to become a future deck or engine officer, but it also teaches you valuable skills that can be used throughout the Chevron shipping organization.<\/p>\n

The cadetship training program includes both classroom studies for theoretical principles and hands-on practical training in the day-to-day operations of the ship. A training officer will monitor your progress and review your work on various projects you\u2019ll complete. You\u2019ll also get personalized mentoring and training from senior officers in your chosen career path.<\/p>\n

Cadetship is an opportunity of a lifetime to sail the seven seas \u2014 and you\u2019ll get paid to do it! You\u2019ll travel to exciting locales on routes that cross the entire globe. Main routes include:<\/p>\n

Arabian Gulf to United States West Coast
Far East, Asia, and Australia
Europe and the Black Sea
West Africa to Gulf of Mexico
There are three cadetship tracks:<\/p>\n

Deck Cadet
Engine Cadet
Electrical Technical Cadet
Deck Cadet<\/p>\n

As a deck cadet, you will assist with:<\/p>\n

Keeping a navigational watch at sea
Mooring and unmooring in port
Loading and discharging cargo in port
Cargo tank preparation and inspection at sea
Maintaining safety equipment onboard (such as lifeboats, life rafts, and firefighting appliances) and performing general upkeep of the ship (such as deck and cargo equipment maintenance)
Engine Cadet<\/p>\n

As an engine cadet, you will operate and maintain the ship\u2019s machinery, including:<\/p>\n

Main engine (diesel or steam)
Generators
Cooling systems
Control systems
Hydraulics
Pumps
Air compressors
Oil purifiers
Distillation plant
Overhaul large and small diesel engines
Refrigeration systems
Make new valve spindles on a lathe
Weld broken pipes or tackle any other job needed to keep the ship operating
Electrical Technical Cadet<\/p>\n

In addition to engine cadet training, you will:<\/p>\n

Operate and maintain electrical and electronic equipment
Troubleshoot electronic control circuits on a switchboard
