Job Title: Purchasing Manager

Key Responsibilities
- Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and develop relationships with suppliers, ensuring they meet quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness standards.
- Negotiation: Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions, including pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts.
- Vendor Selection: Continuously assess and select suppliers based on their capabilities, performance, and alignment with our company’s values and objectives.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage procurement budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and cost-effective procurement practices.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of procurement professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present comprehensive procurement reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels to strike the right balance between maintaining optimal stock and minimizing carrying costs.
- Cost Control: Develop and implement cost-saving strategies and initiatives while ensuring product quality and maintaining strong supplier partnerships.
- Supply Chain Optimization: Continuously evaluate and enhance supply chain processes to drive operational efficiency and cost savings.
- Contract Management: Manage supplier contracts, monitor compliance, and resolve contractual issues as they arise.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate supply chain risks, including geopolitical, economic, and logistical factors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices, supply chain management, and contract law.
- 3-7 years experience as a procurement manager
- Proven negotiation skills and a track record of delivering significant cost savings.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
Remuneration
- N500,000 – N700,000 monthly (negotiable).
