Obafemi Awolowo University – Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions in Obafemi Awolowo University, ile-Ife.

A. ACADEMIC POSITIONS
1) Faculty of Social Sciences

1. Department of Demography and Social Statistics
Area of Specialization
Demography and Social Statistics

Position: Lecturer I – CONNUASSO4

Job Requirement
Candidates for the position of Lecturer I should possess B.Sc, M.Sc and Ph.D degrees in Demography and Social Statistics from a reputable University or Universities.
Candidates should produce evidence of academic productivity through publications in reputable scholarly journals in the appropriate discipline.
In addition, candidates should have at least three years of experience in the University system.
Position: Lecturer II – CONNUASS 03
Requirement
Candidates for the position of Lecturer II must possess a good B.Sc and M.Sc (with thesis) Degrees in Demography and Social Statistics from a recognized University or Universities.
Consideration may be given to candidates who have spent at least three years as an Assistant Lecturer, with a reasonable number of publications in reputable local and international journals.
Evidence of registration of Ph.D degree programme will be an added advantage.
2.) Department of Sociology and Anthropology

Area of Specialization
Sociology and Anthropology

Position: Senior Lecturer I – CONNUASS 05

Job Requirement
Candidate for the position of Senior Lecturer should possess Ph.D in Sociology and Anthropology from Obafemi Awolowo University or any other recognized University with a minimum of Second Class Upper in First Degree.
Candidate should also have a minimum of twelve publications in reputable journals and at least five years’ cognate experience in a recognized University.
2.) FACULTY OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION
Department of Public Administration

Position:
Assistant Lecturer – CONNUASS 02
Graduate Assistant – CONNUASS 01
Requirement
Candidates applying for the position of Assistant Lecturer should possess first degree in the field of Social Sciences. He/She must also possess M.Sc. degree with thesis in Public Administration or Political Science (with bias in Public Administration) from a reputable University with specialization mainly in Quantitative Techniques and the Research Methods/Intergovernmental Relations and/or major courses in Public Administration.

Evidence of scholarly publications as well as registration for a Ph.D programme in a recognized University will also be an additional advantage.

Candidates applying for the position of Graduate Assistant must possess a first degree in Public Administration with not less than Second Class (Upper Division) from a reputable University and evidence of admission/registration for M.Sc. degree in Public Administration also in a reputable University.

3.) FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE
Department of Family, Nutrition and Consumer Sciences

Area of Specialization:
Resource Management and Extension
Food, Nutrition and Dietetics

Position:
Assistant Lecturer / Lecturer II – CONNUASS 02/03
Graduate Assistant – CONNUASS 01
Requirement
Candidates applying for the position of Assistant Lecturer should possess first degree in Home Economics/Consumer Sciences with at least Second Class Upper Division and M.Sc. in the same or related/equivalent discipline. Candidates qualification must be registrable for Ph.D programme (60% in the coursework of academic M.Sc. programme) in the department or related department in the University.

Candidates applying for the position of Lecturer II should possess first degree in Home Economics/Consumer Sciences (Minimum of Second Class Lower Division) with Ph.D in the same or related/equivalent discipline. Candidates must possess a minimum of 3 years post qualification working experience. Publications in reputable national and international journals will be an added advantage.

Candidate applying for the position of Graduate Assistant should possess first degree in Home Economics/Consumer Sciences with a minimum of First Class in Nutrition and Dietetics. Candidates should have evidence of Dietetics internship. Enrolment in Master programme in the same or related/equivalent field is an added advantage.

4.) FACULTY OF TECHNOLOGY
Department of Computer Science and Engineering

Position:
Graduate Assistant – CONNUASS 01
Requirement
Candidate for the position of Graduate Assistant should possess good first Degree in Computer Engineering/Computer Science and Mathematics/Computer Science and Economics with at least a Second Class (Upper) Division. Membership of relevant Professional Organization will be an advantage.

5.) COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCES FACULTY OF DENTISTRY
Department of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery and Oral Pathology

Area of Specialization
Oral Maxillofacial Surgery

Position:
Lecturer I – CONNUASS 04
Requirement
Candidate for the position of Lecturer 1 must possess Bachelor of Dental Surgery B.Ch.D or its equivalent and Fellowship of West African College of Surgeon (FWACS) or National Post Graduate Medical College of Nigeria (FWCDS), The candidate must be medically qualified with basic qualifications registrable with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN). Publication in peer-reviewed reputable journals would be an advantage.

B.) SENIOR NON-TEACHING POSITION
Department of Estate Management

Position:
Technologist II – CONTISS 07 (N1,084,016 – N1,600,307)
Requirement
Candidates applying for the position of Laboratory Technologist II should possess Higher National Diploma in Estate Management and must have completed N.Y.S.C. programme. The possession of the knowledge and skills in the use of Microsoft Office packages, especially Microsoft Excel and experience in related area at the University level would be added advantages. Candidate must be able to interact with students.
