Premiere Urgence Internationale (PUI) is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political and non-religious international aid organization. Our teams are committed to supporting civilians’ victims of marginalization and exclusion, or hit by natural disasters, wars and economic collapses, by answering their fundamental needs. Our aim is to provide emergency relief to uprooted people in order to help them recover their dignity and regain self-sufficiency.
PUI is implementing humanitarian activities in Nigeria since April 2016, supporting population with food security, nutrition and health project in Maiduguri and Borno State. PUI is now looking for its Health team in Monguno.

Job Title: Midwife, PHC
Location: Monguno, Borno State

General Objective
- Under the direct supervision of the SRH supervisor, the Midwife provides MNCH/ SRH care services, including ANC, PNC, Basic Emergency Obstetric and Neonatal Care, family planning, etc.
- S/he follows PUI obstetrical and Sexual Reproductive Health protocols and universal standards to ensure quality and continuity of care.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Consultation:
- Welcome patients to the MNHC/ SRH services in the PHC.
- Establish personal rapport with potential and actual patients and their relatives.
- Provide Antenatal and Postnatal care services.
- Provide Basic Obstetrical and Neonatal care, including assistance to urgent normal deliveries, manage obstetric emergencies.
- Ensure mothers receive the documents required (birth certificate, vaccination card…).
- Provide Family planning counseling as a routine and on request (where possible to the couple) and provide contraceptives according to the need.
- Treat sick Pregnant and Lactating Women for illnesses selected by PUI, and for which a protocol is provided and adhere to therapeutic standards.
- Manage sexual transmitted infections according to PUI protocols.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
Assessment:
- Assess urgency and make sure urgent cases are seen first
- Evaluate the pregnant women for high risks pregnancy and ensure a timely referral to secondary health services.
- Identify cases needing referral and refer them in time, assessment and follow-up of new borne.
- Identify Sexually Gender Based Violence victims and collaborate with the medical team for treatment.
Health Education:
- Provide individual and group health education to patients concerning safe motherhood, care of the new born, IYCF (Infant and Young child feeding), Family Planning and general Sexual Health.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with Universal standards, procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Adhere to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
Reporting:
- Document collected information on health cards and other records.
- Support in various data collection.
- Ensure coordination and continuity of care through verbal and written reports and coordination with SRH supervisor and other PHC staff.
- Ensure operation of equipment, and report to SRH supervisor in case of damage or not functioning.

Job Title: Cook
Location: Maiduguri, Borno State
General objective
- Under the direct supervision of the Logistics Officer and the overall supervision of the Field Coordinator, the Cook is responsible for preparing meals on request for PUI expatriate staff, in accordance with the rules of hygiene. He/she is also responsible for requesting the food and equipment necessary for this work, and the maintenance of his/her workspace.
Responsibilities And Tasks
- Wash plates, dishes, cutlery
- Keep the kitchen, cooking utensils and refrigerator clean. Disinfect the refrigerator regularly.
- Inform his/her line manager of any cooking equipment required and of any missing or damaged materials
- Prepare and clean the dining area before and after meals
- Buy the produce required for meal preparation, within the fixed budget
- Keep a log recording of all expenditure and regularly settle advances relating to the purchase of food

- Manage food and commodity stocks for expatriate accommodation

Job Title: Nutrition Officer
Location: Monguno, Borno State

General Objective
- Under the direct supervision of the Nutrition supervisor, the Nutrition Officer will help organize and undertake Nutrition Education/Sensitization and Community screening activities at community level.
- The Nutrition Officer will be responsible to ensure that educational messages are delivered to beneficiaries as per set targets and with the upmost quality regarding accuracy, efficiency and culturally sensitivity to optimize the adoption of healthier behavior among mothers of children under 5.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Implementation and Monitoring of the Activities:
- S/he will Participate in the identification of eligible project beneficiaries and Community Focal persons.
- S/he will participate in organising Project beneficiaries and Volunteers into groups and other Fora for dissemination of nutrition messages dissemination
- Participate in the planning for and implementation of trainings of the beneficiaries, volunteers and community Focal persons.
- Conduct household surveys, individual follow-ups and monitoring nutrition Education activities
- Train and support nutrition community focal points and Lead Mothers all along the project implementation
- Monitor the work of community volunteers under its responsibility
- Prepare Community level sensitization plans and topics in liaison with the supervisor.
- Analyze the humanitarian situation, taking protection problems into consideration/Do no Harm to the population.

- S/he will help nurture good collaboration between PUI and local community leaders

Communication and Reporting:
- Pass on any information or problems to his/her direct and/or indirect supervisor concerning his/her task, PUI programs, or safety aspects
