Job Title: Accountant
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

• Keeping informed about current legislation relating to finance and accounting.
• Posting and processing journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
• Weekly updating of accounts receivable
• Updating accounts payable and perform reconciliations
• Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
• Update financial data in tally to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
• Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
• Assist in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
• Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting or related discipline from any recognized institution
• Must have 3 to 5 years relevant experience in the similar role
• Qualifications ICAN certified is a plus but not required
• Must be able to use Microsoft Excel and Tally Prime correctly with a minimum supervision
• Journal entry experience
• High-energy, self-motivated, team player with a desire to excel in demanding and fast paced detailed oriented environment
• Ability to adapt quickly, work independently, take ownership, and work in a flexible team environment
• Good understanding of Tax compliance
• Candidates living on the Island preferred.
