The Confederation of African Football (CAF) was founded in 1957 by four nations: Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia and South Africa. As the administrative body of the region, CAF manages competitions, offers technical and administrative training courses while actively fostering the promotion and practice of football.

The Confederation organizes championships such as the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN or AFCON), the most popular competition. It maintains very close links with FIFA in coordinating tournaments for different events such as the World Cup, Youth and Women competitions and the Olympic Games Football Tournaments. We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

 

Job Title: HR & Services Director
Location: Africa

Details
HR & Services Director who can contribute to CAF’s overall success by handling the following duties:

  • Responsible for the following Departments: Human Resources, IT, Procurement, Services (incorporation of logistics, facility services, transportation, production) and travel (ticketing, visa and accommodation)
  • Accountable to establish and maintain strategic workforce plan of CAF in order to manage the HR department
  • Accountable to establish and ensure implementation of a comprehensive CAF IT strategy
  • Ensure effective functioning of Procurement Department and Procurement rules (guidelines)
  • Ensure effective functioning of Facility Services, Production, Logistics, travel, accommodation, transportation and facility Management
  • Establish policies and services that promote CAF vision and culture
  • Managerial oversight of external vendors and suppliers of HR & Services
  • Overall managerial and financial accountability for daily operations of HR & Services for CAF Administration

Requirements

  • Master degree in Business Administration, Economics and or relevant field
  • Proven track record in similar leadership role (minimum 7+ years’ experience)
  • Demonstrated experience in managing external suppliers and customers
  • Understanding of business functions, in particular Travel & Accommodation, HR, IT, Facility Services, logistics and Procurement
  • Strong sense of responsibility and accountability
  • Outstanding leadership and team building skills
  • Proven ability to make decisions with an understanding on longer term impact
  • Ability to effectively work with multiple internal and external stakeholders with differing interests
  • Proven track record of successfully people manage; both indirectly and directly
  • Ability to translate strategic plans into specific objectives, and to create and execute plans to achieve objectives
  • Fluent in English and/or Arabic and French
