First Independent Power Limited (FIPL) is a Power Generation company located in Rivers state with 4 simple gas turbine power plants with a total capacity of 541MW.
Following the nation’s privatization exercise, Sahara, through its power division, Sahara Power Group and sundry affiliations, acquired FIPL. FIPL presently needs Account officers to join her workforce. We are is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Account Officer
Location: 
Port Harcourt, Rivers
Job Type: Full Time
Purpose Statements

  • To provide timely, accurate and up to date financial information to enhance the decision making of the organization as far as finance and accounts is concerned.

Key Deliverables

  • Reconciliation of statutory accounts (PAYE, WHT, VAT and Pension)
  • Preparation of monthly accrual journals
  • Preparation of monthly prepayment journals
  • Reconciliation of ledgers
  • Maintenance of the property, plant and equipment register
  • Appropriate Filing documents, Month end accounts and all reconciled ledgers
  • Reconciliation of statutory accounts (PAYE, WHT, VAT and Pension)
  • Preparation of monthly accrual journals
  • Preparation of monthly prepayment journals
  • Reconciliation of ledgers
  • Maintenance of the property, plant and equipment register
  • Appropriate Filing documents, Month end accounts and all reconciled ledgers
  • Any other accounting function(s)

Minimum Qualification / Experience

  • Accounting Graduate with at least 1 years post NYSC work experience in similar role
  • Must have started certification process for ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CPA

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Good/Sound knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of accounting packages/software
  • Requires minimal supervision
  • Ability to be creative in doing the mundane
  • Effective time and resources management

Job Title: Inventory Team Lead
Location
: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Job Type: Full Time
Department: Finance
Report to: The Chief Finance Officer
Purpose Statements

  • To provide timely, accurate and up-to-date records of FIPL warehouse.
  • To design inventory management plans that will help in streamlining the orders received thereby reducing unnecessary wastage of valuable time.

Key Deliverables

  • Maintenance of up to date and accurate bin card
  • Receipt and documentation of inventory
  • Proper storage and systematic arrangement of store items
  • Issue of inventory taking shelf life into account
  • Weekly inventory report to management
  • Monthly inventory report to management
  • Tracking of asset obsolescence and timely communication to Finance and Procurement departments of same
  • Timely provision of all key information on inventory to management as requested

Requirements
Minimum Qualification / Experience:

  • First degree in Accounting/Engineering (Mandatory)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience (2 of which is in a supervisory position)
  • Must have started certification process

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Good/Sound knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Proficient knowledge of an ERP
  • Requires minimal supervision
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Effective time and resources management
