Job Title: Solar Electrical Engineer (Design and Operations)
Location: Lagos

Description

• We are seeking a Solar Electrical Engineer (Design and Operations) to join our dynamic team at NXT Grid.
• As a leader in the solar mini-grid industry, we are dedicated to providing reliable and sustainable energy solutions to communities in Nigeria and beyond.
• In this role, you will be responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of solar mini-grids for various sites.
• Your expertise in solar energy systems and electrical engineering will be crucial in ensuring the successful deployment and operation of these mini-grids.
• You will work closely with a team of engineers and technicians to optimize the electrical systems and equipment, ensuring maximum energy service delivery to our customers while maintaining healthy financials for the sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Developing, reviewing, and modifying electrical design plans for solar mini-grid projects
• Overseeing the implementation and installation of electrical systems
• Conducting regular maintenance and troubleshooting activities on existing mini-grids
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery
• Monitoring the performance of electrical systems and equipment and providing recommendations for improvements
• Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Managing project budgets and timelines

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in solar energy system design and operations
• Proficiency in electrical design software and tools
• Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion for renewable energy and sustainable development
• To excel in this role, you should have a solid understanding of solar energy systems and electrical engineering principles.
• You should also be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
