Job Title: Cost Accountant
Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Permanent (Onsite)

Job Description 

• We are looking for a Cost Accountant to join our Accounting department. You will be responsible for performing cost analyses and preparing budget reports.
• You should possess excellent analytical skills and be able to create detailed reports that present cost-effective solutions for the company.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and monitor company expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Develop and maintain cost accounting models, tools, and processes.
• Prepare and present detailed cost reports, forecasts, and variance analyses.
• Collect cost information and maintain an expense database
• Collaborate with various departments to gather cost data and validate financial information.
• Participate in the creation of budgeting and forecasting reports, providing insights to optimize spending for each department.
• Plan and record variable costs (purchases of raw material and operations costs)
• Assist in the implementation of cost control measures and process improvements.
• Analyze and report profit margins.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing.

Skills and Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Must be ICAN or ACCA certified or undergoing diets and in the process of getting certified.
• 3+ years of experience in accounting, finance.
• Experience with account management software such as Sage, Quckbooks, Zoho, etc. is a plus.
• In depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar tools.
• Strong analytic skills and attention to detail.
