Chemonics is accepting expressions of interest from qualified Nigerian nationals for the anticipated five-year Feed the Future West Africa Trade and Investment Hub Activity funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The Activity seeks to improve private sector competitiveness in West Africa with a focus on increasing the agricultural productivity and profitability of smallholder farmers in Nigeria, and promoting West Africa’s regional and international trade.

The Activity includes two main components:

  • Design and administration of a Grant-making Facility for private sector partnerships
  • Technical assistance that directly supports, coordinates, and engages with qualifying recipients (i.e., partners and grantees) to achieve USAID’s trade and food security objectives.

We are seeking candidates for the positions listed below with experience working on USAID or other international donor-funded projects.

Lead Grants Manager: The Lead Grants Manager will advise and assist in the design, development, and oversight of grants management policies, procedures, and practices. S/he will provide policy guidance and interpretation for staff as well as grantees, and analyze and evaluate grant applications, proposals, and awards to ensure adherence to grants management policies. Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics or other relevant field with at least five years of post-professional (e.g. Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), etc.) experience
  • Demonstrated experience in effective grants management (managing grants for results) and procurement
