Job Title: Head of Research
Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Brief:

  • The Head of Research will be responsible for establishing the Organization as a clear thought leader in the financial services space by working with different business teams to create compelling and insightful publications & reports systematizing and growing the volume of special research projects, such as investor briefings & reports, generating high-level content for use by end-clients, and supporting the group growing services.

Job Description:

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research projects (internally and externally) to inform and aid development of the Company’s corporate strategy.
  • Conduct research and develop thought-leadership marketing publications on opportunities and macro trends impacting the industries we operate in.
  • Conduct and manage research process for the real estate team, including project workflow requirements, resources, milestones, proposal development, required permissions etc. and provide relevant report
  • Develop compelling deliverables that will drive engagement and add value to the Organization
  • Collaborate with senior management to provide strategic input and guidance on all research projects, directly contributing to or managing: research goals, planning, design, analysis, reporting, distribution, and training, while developing presentations summarizing insights and recommendations
  • Collaborate with senior managers to support and lend guidance to industry, market, trends, best practice, and other similar research.
  • Partner with sales leaders, client-facing teams, and operations units to meet client business objectives and needs through the development of new efficient products and approaches, as well as deliver complex client projects.
  • Lead idea generation to ensure research agenda addresses future industry challenges.
  • Project-manage research projects, including creating and managing plans, schedules, budgets, deliverables, and stakeholder contributions.
  • Actively support business development activities through the generation of compelling proposals for new business development.
  • Work with different teams to create compelling and insightful publications and reports such as investor briefings, reports and generating high-level content for use by end-clients and supporting the group’s growing services.
  • Track and report on research activities, progress, and outcomes for different arms of the Group
  • Conduct periodic review and evaluation of efficacy of research efforts in collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders

Role Requirements:

  • B.Sc. or HND in relevant field
  • At least 7-8 years’ professional experience in banking, capital markets, or at research/professional services firms
  • Demonstrated expertise participating in the design, analyses, and distribution of operationalized research for targeted audience.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills; ability to think creatively, generate research ideas, and solve research problems
  • Solid writing skills; a track record in publishing (press, academic journals, or business reports such as equity or risk analysis) is highly desirable
  • Self-starter, independent thinker and resourceful, and competency to work with distributed team members when necessary
  • Strong people skills that create strong relationships and credibility to both influence executive-level strategic thinking and create demand for new research initiatives
  • Solid presentation skills, excellent attention to details, organized and process-oriented.
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Have exposure to and training in analytical/statistical methods and interpretation of statistical results; preferred experience in survey design and with statistical software tools such as SPSS
  • Familiarity with data visualization software such as Tableau
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including proven success in ability to present ideas and concepts effectively and persuasively.
